By the Sea

Would you believe me if I said I found this by the Sea...?  No probably not.  I found this at another thrift store, and it was not PRETTY!  Ugly handles really dated the piece, BUT the top drawer was really nice even though it was, dare I say it plastic.....  Oh the inhumanity of it all!  How dare they.

The title is by the sea cause I painted it Annie Sloans Chalk Paint in Louie Blue.  It is such a pretty color.  It looks just like the ocean to me.  I used the ASCP in Old White to dry brush over the top of the blue then sanded it all down. Which made it SO smooth!  Its such a wonderful finish when sanded all over, its just like glass.   Here is the after.

I distressed the medallions on the top drawer and painted the little handles white.

The other drawers got some knobs from Hobby Lobby that were brass and I painted them white with the chalk paint.

It looks like it washed up on the beach!

Have a great day!!
