Sweet Little Dresser and Chest of Drawers
These were done for a little girl. The originals were her daddys when he was in college. The family was about to give them away when the mom thought I might be able to help save them and get a few more years of use out of them… Well I was more than happy to help.
Here they are before
They decided the hardware was not girly enough so the mom scored big time at Anthropology and got 28 knobs at 2.00 apiece. Love it when great saving like that happen.
I filled all the holes from the original hardware by filling them first with wood putty then when that is dry I sand over the spot and fill again with Dap the wall putty that starts out pink and turns white when dry. It doesn't crack or shrink when dry and leaves a very smooth finish. Then I re-drilled new holes for the new knobs.
The cabinets were painted a true white because she had purchased furniture that she wanted them to go with. There was light distressing on the pieces to go along with some other things in the little girls room.
Have a great week everyone!
I like learning about specific products in furntiure rehab~like the Dap wall putty....I never think to change out the knob style from two holes to one because of the fear of seeing the old hole marks...thanks Connie! They look awesome!
