Great White Dresser

I found this dresser at my local Thrift Store,  it had three broken rails and was missing some hardware.

I painted it with Behr Premium Paint in Sherwin Williams Crisp Linen.

Mr. Sensible Redesign fixed the rails, I think hes the best and so sweet to help me out!

I decided to take off the handles on the top two drawers and use them at the bottom.  I used 6 knobs I bought at Hobby Lobby.  They were black and paintable.  I painted them the same color as the dresser, I also painted the handles to match.

I distressed the dresser, used clear wax on the lower part and drawers, and put Poly on the top.

I took it to the Furniture Resale store that I volunteer at Treasures Resale Consignment Store and it SOLD!  I always like it when that happens.

 Have a great week!

Chalkboard Menu

Here is a Menu chalkboard that I made.

I purchased the frame at my local Goodwill Store for 4.95

I thought it had some really nice details.

I took it apart from the glass and painted the frame with Anne Sloans Old White Chalk Paint.

Then I sanded it down.  Its SO easy with this paint,  I then put a clear wax on it.

I used my Silhouette to cut the word Menu in white vinyl and painted the glass with Chalkboard paint two coats painted on with a foam roller.  I applied the word Menu to the chalkboard and put the frame and glass back together.

SOLD!!  I like it when that happens :)

Have a great week ;)

Longhorns Anyone?

This is one I did for the store.  I was painting red anyway so whats one more piece, right?  It was mostly laminate. So there would be no distressing.  But the handles were out of this world cool.

I did some sanding first then I used the Sander Deglosser from Home Depot.  We painted it red 3 coats, and put it all back together.

Have a great week,

Beautiful Armoire

 This was for a client

This is what it looked like before I started.
She wanted it painted yellow and heavily distressed.  Being that it was already painted white, that is very difficult.  I personally don't like to distress and see white after I have sanded it down.  It looks something like this...
Thats a not for me and I discourage it with my clients.
So the issue was how to get it to look old and distressed without actually distressing it.

I first painted it a yellow called Pyramid Gold its a Home Depot Behr color.

Then I glazed it with Van Dyke Brown not taking very much of the glaze off.

This piece came apart in three pieces, here you see two.  The crown actually came off as well.

Here it is all put back together in the room with the new Bedding that it was painted to coordinate with. It really is a pretty yellow with the glaze over the top of it.

Have a great week, thanks for stopping,
