Here is the after of a double bookcase that I recently painted. It was not very deep making it great for a hallway.
Here is the before: I painted it black and then distressed it.

The black paint greatly improved this book shelf for a whole new life. Using just the right amount of distressing adds the finishing touches to this piece. I love it. Humble Abode
