Chippendale Coffee Table

I could not resist painting this coffee table something different!  I truly get tired of painting black and white even though that is what sells the best.

Nothing much to say about this one it was in great shape and I thought it would be different to paint it Annie Sloans Chalk Paint Provence.

I did a bit of distressing and put a clear wax on it.
Took it to Treasures Resale Consignment Store along with about 4 other pieces and I swear it was the first piece that sold..  So cool they like the color it was a hit..... ah no........ the people want it painted purple.  duh can't ever win.  But I was happy that they saw the potential and were going with a different color than black or white.  YAY its a win as I see it.

Antique Corner Cabinet

Today I am going to show you a corner cabinet we found at a garage sale, we were looking at another piece in the peoples basement when Mr. Sensible spotted this piece sitting in the corner (go figure) and asked if it was for sale?  "Well sure I guess" was the reply it needed some repair on the back legs another reason it was sitting in the corner, it was leaning against the wall.

You would never know that now its all fixed up thanks to Mr. Sensible.

Here is the before.

I painted it Annie Sloans Old White paint with a really soft yellow inside shelves.

I distressed these pretty doors and they turned out really nice, the hardware was really unusual.

Here is my sometime assistant (Tater) posing with the finished piece.

Here it is at the store Treasures Resale Consigment, Roswell GA

Small Armoire

This piece came from a garage sale.  Its on the small size just right for a little girls room.

It was already painted white so all I did was the distressing and then I glazed it with a tan glaze.  I changed the knobs.  All done short and sweet in so many ways ;)

Just some closeups....

Have a great weekend everyone :)

My Christmas Themed Project

I found this inspiration on Pinterest...Chalkboard Dresser

I had the perfect dresser at home, I have had it for about 5 years and previously painted it tan and off white striped.

Mr. Sensible sanded down the stripes for me and I painted the edges and top all in Lenox Tan a Benjamin Moore Color.  Then I taped off all the edges and top and spray painted the drawer fronts, the pieces between the drawers and the sides with Black Chalkboard Paint.

THEN:
I added some Chalk Drawings similar to drawings I found in  Restoration Hardware Baby and Kids Holiday Catalog

This is what I ended up with,

I took it to Treasures Resale Upscale Consignment Store Roswell GA  Where it is for sale.

We set it next to a piece another volunteer painted with Tan Chalkboard Paint, after our regular painter had sanded down the rest of the piece.

They asked me to Draw something on the front of the tan one so I used another inspiration from the same catalog to cover the front of it.

I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!

Of course these pieces once wiped off, will go back to being just chalkboards and someone else can have a blast drawing something on them!

Enjoy!
