Mr. Sensibles Side of the Business

It has been brought to my attention that I have not included any of Mr. Sensibles projects besides the butcher block island.

Mr. Sensible has become a welder extraordinaire.

He is self taught and making some wonderful things.

Here is a nightstand that he made as a prototype.

Using 1" tubular steel that we sprayed Oil Rubbed Bronze.  It has Rough Sawn wood on the top.

There are also Coffee Tables, End Tables and Foyer Tables.

These tables below happen to have Reclaimed Barn Wood on the top.

These pieces have all been sold,  Sorry BUT he takes Custom Orders...  if you are interested.

Have a great weekend!!

A Basic Beauty

We found this chest at Goodwill.  It is all wood and very sturdy.  Mr. Sensible sanded down the top so we could give it a fresh coat of stain then we painted the body Crisp Linen from Sherwin Williams Mixed in Home Depot Behr paint with the primer already in it.  Distressed it around the edges and we were good to go! I also left the knobs the original color to match the top.

Poor thing, Knots and Handles she is SO busy!

We found this dresser in North Carolina.  She was in great condition BUT whoa she is very yellow and all those knots and then the handles she is sooo busy.

We painted her black, distressed around all the edges and calmed her down quite a bit!

Look at those Chunky Legs!!

Table Legs I mean!!!

Our neighbor gave us this table after he couldn't sell it on Craigslist.  hmmmmm well if its Free ;)

It was butcher block but yellow.  Not popular right now.

It had really chunky legs though a nice advantage.

Mr. Sensible sanded down the top to a nice light finish to which we put a clear sealant over.

Then I painted the apron and legs black.

Then I painted the apron and legs white.  Couldn't decide I  liked it both ways.

Then I distressed the white down so the black was showing quite a bit.

Sorry this picture is blurry, But it turned out really nice.

Redesign of a Server

This server we found at an estate sale.  It was already primed in white. It had some nice detail that wasn't showing up very well with it painted all white.

I painted it black then because it was white to begin with and I don't like white to show through when I distress black I had to do something different.

So I dry brushed all the highlights and details with White.

Turned out rather different and sold when it went to Treasures Resale Consignment Store in Roswell, GA
